Life

This weekend flipped my life and took me for a spin.  My future Father-in-law had a seizure and is in the hospital.  He is not responsive and is on a ventilator.  There have been many test done so far (CT, MRI, EEG) and still we are unsure of the outcome. 

So, I am late turning in my weekend homework.  I hate turning things in late. I just don't do it.  It stresses me out. 

I am scared that I am going to lose my father in law to be.  He has been sick for the past 10 years with Alzheimer's. 

For some reason, if he wakes up, but might not make it, my fiance and I will be having our wedding sooner.  We will be getting married in his hospital room to make sure he can also be there. 

As for my Wedding Forum.  It has been the same this week.  DIY (Do It Yourself) has been a fun topic.  I really enjoy making things for the wedding!  My most resent post asked advice for hospital wedding. I have a feeling I might get a lot of responses.

Just Realized...

I was reading in a forum on One Web about how a Bride to be bought toasting flutes for less than $2 at Goodwill and it donned on me that there is a reason most brides are not bad mouthing each other is because we are each others support group.  We are who we go to when we have exciting news about our weddings because our friends and family can only listen to each of us Bride to Be's for so long.  I am excited that we are a support group to one another.  It is exciting.  When I posted that I created my first DIY wedding item, I got wonderful responses from others in the forum!  They encouraged me to keep on crafting!

Posting on a Forum...the kindness and quick response

Less than 2 minutes after I posted onto a Forum on OneWed I started reciving respondes back.  I thought, I need to post something that I am thinking and that other brides might be running into.  It is so amazing to me how helpful other brides are trying to be.  I posted the following on my Forum. 

 

Different Dresses for Pregnant Matron of Honor?

 

I am planning my July Wedding and my Matron of Honor will be 7 months pregnant in July. Would it be okay to pick out a different dress for my Matron of Honor that will be not able to fit comfortable in the other dress I really want my bridesmaids to wear? They would be the same color, different material. Also, the same length. What do you think?

 

I love that even though some brides tied the knot years ago, they still offer advice.  Also, they put in amazing practical imput!

 

Now just advice on invites!

Reading those words can be scarry if all you wanted is someone to read your post.  The wedding forum does a great job by DAILY reviewing the forum and removing anything that should not be there. 

Also, if a bride-to-be posted in the wrong section, the moderators will move the post to the right section. 

On each of the ladies post that have been posting for a while they have added photos of their wedding, info on save the dates, and now even when their baby is going to be born.  It is like a shrine to their family on each post.  I find if funny how many brides are still on the site YEARS later.  They just love the idea of a wedding!(and so do I)

This week I went onto a forum on OneWeb.  I needed to post on their New Bride Page to be able to post in the future.  This is what I posted:

Hello Wedding World,

I am so excited to be a Bride to Be! I just got engaged on February 6th. My fiance and I are both Special Ed. teachers and are on a tight budget. I am so excited to plan the wedding of our dreams! I have only been engaged for 3 weeks and I already have a location for my cermony and reception. I also already purchased my dress! My wedding date is July 30th! Any advice for a bride on a budget? Or any ideas?

My colors are Navy blue and Yellow and we are getting married outdoors!

My finace and I are on a very tight budget as well so take it from me,
-don't be afraid to borrow some else's stuff. Borrowed=FREE!
-check out your local thrift stores! It sounds gross and tacky but I promise you can find all kind of cute and inexpensive things there!
-go with fake flowers! They are so much cheaper!
-also my biggest problem...no matter what do not compromise what you really want! I have compromised so much with my wedding and I wish I hadn't!!
